This stamp is on the frame back by the hammer and safety where the Waffenamt stamp would be. I am not sure if the second digit in the stamp is a zero or a Q. What do you think?I know that mine does NOT have a Waffenamt stamp (darn) and it’s not purplish, so that rules out the Russian’s dip bluing after WWII or the unethical arms dealer in Germany who bought up the Bulgarian arsenal surplus when it hit the market and applied Waffenamt marks to them for extra cash.My question is about the German (stick?) eagle stamped on my Star B with the code 4(Zero or Q)20 under it. I got this info off of a chat room, so I am not even sure that it’s true. It included 8000 pistols serial numbers 200 and 250. My Star B has the serial # 255598 (from the fourth variation), which was delivered on Jto Handave France, a town near the Franco Spanish boarder. I am not sure what “date indicated is 1946” means?I know that the Echeverria (Star) company has published records of five variations (shipments) which are the ACTUAL Nazi German delivery contracts. Finally, the Q with an asterisks over it indicates year of proof (date indicated is 1946?). Secondly, the P in the circle indicates passing of proof test – Automatic pistol from Eibar proof house (Used after December 14, 1929). Thanks.I know that mine has the helmet over the X, which indicates admission to (receipt at) proof house (Used after July 9 1931). Most of the stuff I learned from your outstanding site. My questions are mixed in with what I think I know about my Star B.

I have spent the past two weeks trying to figure it out and it’s going to drive me nuts. I also need help in determining the year and if this is one of the Russian or Bulgarian messes. I need your help understanding one of the stamps on my Star B.
